OneMillionDirectory — 2026 Relaunch

OneMillionDirectory.com is a product of our own, online since 2005: a business and website directory with 330,000 listings, 206,000 registered users and two decades of history on Google. In August 2026 we relaunched it end to end — code, design, admin panel and payments — with zero downtime, on the very same database.

The migration followed the strangler fig pattern: the legacy PHP stack was replaced with Laravel 13 and a Filament admin panel, a Tailwind CSS frontend and PayPal REST API payments, while the original MySQL database kept running untouched. The heart of the project was automated parity verification against the production site: every URL indexed by Google, the login flow for all 206,000 users (with transparent upgrade of historical password hashes to bcrypt), the paid ordering of listings and even the exact search result counts were validated against the live site's real behaviour before the cutover.

The outcome: zero URLs lost — 21 years of rankings intact —, a complete visual redesign, modern moderation and anti-spam, and the same product as always, served faster and safer than at any point in its history.
